New gig page to compete with Myspace music?

For all you music aficionados out there, a UK-based network aims to deliver all the latest gig news, photographs and video in one tidy website package.

Called GigJunkie.net, the page unites a blend of multimedia and gig listings, so if you're unsure about buying that Arctic Monkeys concert ticket, you can view how awesome it looked and then make up your mind.

While the site primarily lists the newest gigs happening across the pond, it can also be a tool for Stateside anglophiles who hope to learn more about British bands.

As a downside to the U.S. kids, the site aims to be able to give away free tickets to the top UK concerts, so if you're broke and in Great Britain, GigJunkie might be a safer alternative than begging for cheap tickets outside any music venue.

However, only time will tell if this page can give Myspace music a run for its money. While Myspace can't boast free tickets across the board, it does offer concert information and access to free tracks and band images.
