Facebook continues to evolve

A popular social networking site has just introduced a new feature that could facilitate communication between users.

Facebook, a social networking site, has introduced its '@' tag, which allows users to mark posts such as status updates, kind of like you can do with pictures, according to PC World. Such tagging is reminiscent of the feature Twitter, one of Facebook's direct competitors, introduced not so long ago.

So, for example, if one were to write so and so 'is eating a turkey sandwich with his best friend,' that user could attach the identity of his friend to the post. Then other users could click on the post and see all the other posts related to that person.

The @ will likely increase the reach of peoples' networks, much like photo tagging did. This feature became available to everyone on September 14 and FB also says that users will soon be able to tag each other from applications too.

If someone writes something about you that you don't like, you'll of course be able to go and remove your tag from the post. Just follow the link that's included in the notification that's emailed to you and erase the tag as you would if it were a photo.ADNFCR-2087-ID-19362419-ADNFCR
