MySpace wants waifish women

A social networking site launched a nationwide womanhunt today that will give one lucky lady her big shot at making it on the small screen.

MySpace, along with Lifetime Digital and The Weinstein Company, announced their Models of the Runway Casting Challenge today in an effort to spur America's impressionable youth away from their textbooks and into the glamorous and ego-inflating world of the amateur mannequin. The winner of the competition will be a contestant on Models of the Runway, which takes viewers behind the scenes of Project Runway and airs on Thursday nights.

'We are very excited to let America help us cast Models of the Runway,' said Dan Suratt, an EVP at Lifetime. 'It's a natural fit to work with MySpace on this competition to reach a broader audience for both programs, effectively promote the Models of the Runway Casting Challenge and potentially find fashion's next supermodel.'

Contestants will have to pass through several rounds and a winner will be chosen by an online voting poll, the results of which will be interpreted by the program's producers.

Aspiring models are invited to submit their entries until September 20. Project Runway is hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum.ADNFCR-2087-ID-19341139-ADNFCR
