Believe it or not, National Unmarried and Single Americans Week has arrived already. My how time flies when you're absolutely alone. Anyway, the online dating site Zoosk decided to celebrate solitude this year by surveying 1,005 of its users.
Zoosk, which has 40 million members, wanted to know how people felt about being single. The site discovered that nearly 70 percent of women don't mind because it means they can do their own thing and be flirtatious whenever they want.
The men were less optimistic, nearly 50 percent of them saying the perks of a relationship outweigh the liberty of singledom.
'Singles have a lot to celebrate during National Singles Week. Zoosk has made it more fun than ever to meet potential love interests online,' said Shayan Zadeh, co-CEO of the site. 'We continue to introduce new features to our community that give singles more ways to strike up a meaningful and fun conversation online with a potential date.'
The majority of men and women (slightly more than 50 percent of both) said that one day, they'd like to find love too.
