Moms use Facebook the most

A study conducted by an ad association recently revealed that stay-at-home moms use Facebook and other social media websites more than any other average person.

The Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA) performed a study that suggests moms with kids at home are 60 percent more likely to use Facebook, 42 percent more likely to use MySpace and 17 percent more likely to use Twitter, according to the Denver Business Journal.

'Retailers who aren't engaging customers through social media could be missing the boat,' Mike Gatti told the Journal. Gatti is the executive director at RAMA. 'Twitter, Facebook and blogs are becoming increasingly popular with moms as they search for coupons or deals and keep in touch with loved ones.'

RAMAs findings don't seem to contradict Facebook's, as the website's stats page says that its fastest growing demographic is the 35 and older group.

Almost 94 percent of moms said they use social networking sites to get advice on what sorts of products they should buy. It's not difficult to imagine these sites as powerful tools, when you consider the fact that Facebook recently announced it has more than 300 million users.ADNFCR-2087-ID-19367005-ADNFCR
