Facebook is supposedly the social networking site that smartphoners like to visit most. FB says it has 65 million people connecting via handheld now. But the people that really, really get into it are those who own an iPhone.
Facebook users with an iPhone are twice as likely to use the Facebook application as users with a Palm. People with an iPhone also use MySpace and Twitter more than Blackberry-ers and whoever else is out there.
While Twitter has pretty much exploded onto the scene during the last few months, 85 percent of people like visiting the site on their regular computers better than on their phones. Although Apple takes the cake here too, with 26 percent of iPhone users tweeting from their mobiles, compared to the 15 percent who do the same from their Palms and the 10 percent who micro-blog from their Blackberrys.
There are many alternatives to the iPhone, but it seems that people who enjoy social networking like that device best. And even though Twitter has been in the news a lot lately, Facebook still reigns supreme in the world of smartphones.
