Good News Girlz is a networking site that the founders say combines the advantages of meeting people online with the advantages of meeting people offline. The site also supports mental health and an active lifestyle.
'Good News Girlz promotes happy, healthy lifestyles and actively connects people through online and face-to-face social networking,' says Harriet Kelly, one of the site's co-founders. 'We find and deliver cutting-edge content that links emerging trends with living a full and good life. And good news leads to good living.'
According to the University of Pittsburgh, negativity is bad for you. Pitt conducted a study of 100,000 women over the course of eight years that revealed those with positive thoughts were healthier.
The Good News Girlz launch event is scheduled for September 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Shak, a clothing store in Dallas. Along with Kelly, Good News Girlz was founded by Karla Barber, Judy Dedmon Coyle and Tamara Mattison.
