Del tha Funkee Homosapien, founder of the group Hieroglyphics, was on his way to Denver with his friends A-Plus, Zac Hendrix and Bukue when the car was suddenly bashed into by a Ford Expedition.
Del's car was struck in the center/rear, and Bukue says he and the other passengers were projected forward.
'If the SUV hit us from any slight angle we would have flipped and I may not be writing this to you guys,' wrote Bukue on MySpace on September 20. He also said that although no one was too badly harmed, Del was in the back, so he felt the impact the most. He was taken by ambulance for X-rays, which showed nothing out of the ordinary.
A-Plus was featured on the classic hip hop album 93 'til Infinity, which included a track by the same name that he produced. Arguably one of the best hip hop songs ever, it has been sampled time and time again (as recently as 2009).
According to his MySpace page, Del's main influences are The Funkmob and Parliament-Funkadelic.
