The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) recently launched the ReadyPA.org fan page on Facebook. The page will include facts, messages, photos and general information about how to protect yourself and your family before, during and after an incident.
'We live in an information-driven society, and Facebook allows us to easily communicate important information in a timely manner,' said PEMA director Robert French. 'For ReadyPA, Facebook is a great approach to the campaign that allows Pennsylvanians to access information and learn more about ways to prepare individuals, families, pets and communities for any type of emergency.'
ReadyPA is a campaign in Pennsylvania that encourages citizens to take measures that will allow them to stay safe in the event of a disaster. PEMA supports the campaign, whose message is Be Informed, Be Prepared, and Be Involved.
The September 11 attack occurred eight years ago and one of the four planes crashed in Stonycreek Township, Pennsylvania. Tragic events such as 9/11 have inspired Americans to protect themselves by becoming involved with campaigns such as ReadyPA.
