Tweet about your health insurance

An American health insurance provider is using social networking to communicate with its members in Wisconsin.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has realized that adults use social networking to communicate, so the company has started to tweet too. Members living in the land of badgers and cheese can sign on, log in or otherwise connect to sites like Twitter and Facebook and give the company a piece of their mind.

'At Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, we understand that more teens, adults and even seniors are logging online to tweet, network, or blog about their daily activities, likes, dislikes, among other things,' said Larry Schreiber, the company's head in Wisconsin.

The company is currently experimenting with a program that uses Twitter to interact with people who are looking for medical advice or need information about their coverage.

The internet marketing research company comScore published a study last April that revealed people between the ages of 45 and 54 are Twitter's top demographic. The company also said that there are more seniors on Twitter than kids aged 12 to 17.ADNFCR-2087-ID-19351956-ADNFCR
